This Isn’t About Us

This page is called “Not About Us” for a reason.

Because the only story worth telling here is yours.

Most companies fill this page with their backstory, milestones, and why they think they’re special. But let’s be honest, none of that helps you land your next opportunity.

This isn’t about us.
It’s about you.

Your career. Your goals. Your future.

We didn’t build OPNX to show off credentials. We built it because too many job seekers are working hard and still coming up empty. Too many professionals are told they’re “overqualified”—a polite mask for age bias. Too many graduates are branded “underqualified” when so-called entry-level roles demand three years of experience. And too many talented people are getting lost in the noise of a broken system that doesn’t reward effort; it rewards a process that produces results.

Our mission is simple: remove the guesswork, give you clarity, and put you back in control of your search.

This page is called “Not About Us” for a reason—because the only story worth telling here is yours, and your transformation from overlooked to UNSTOPPABLE.

For the Curious

Keenan D. Hogg - Founder / Job Search SME

You have a choice in your job search: be the victim, or be the victor. The system may be broken, but that doesn’t mean you have to be.

I’ve lived this from both sides of the table. My career has taken me from the server rooms of a data center, to the boardrooms of marketing management, to closing enterprise sales deals, and finally into leadership roles in Talent Acquisition. I know the thrill of extending a struggling job seeker a life-altering offer. I also know the lows of long-term unemployment and the toll it takes on the psyche.

For the past 14 years I’ve worked in Talent Acquisition, the last five in leadership and consulting. And here’s what I’ve learned: companies don’t always hire the best candidate. They hire the one who builds trust, understands the employer’s needs, and talks more about future solutions than past performance. Most job seekers aren’t failing because they lack talent; they’re failing because they’ve never been taught how to sell. No matter your profession, if you’re looking for work, congratulations — you’re in sales now.

That realization led me to build OPNX — an operating system for your job search. OPNX transforms chaos into clarity and guesswork into a structured, repeatable process. It equips job seekers to cut through bias, build presence, and create momentum toward opportunities that fit.

Today, I bring both perspectives — job seeker and recruiter — into one mission: helping you win in a system that was never designed for you to succeed.

I’ve always told my children:
“Ironclad character is forged in the crucible of adversity.”

It shaped them as they entered adulthood, and it’s the same principle I now share with job seekers ready to turn setbacks into strength.

Shonda Patterson - Brand Engagement Ambassador & Mindset Coach

Shonda is the human pulse of OPNX. As our social media engagement ambassador, she ensures the brand doesn’t just speak but actually connects with people where they are. With a natural gift for empathy, she intuitively applies the principles of NLP, sensing what’s beneath the surface, reframing limiting beliefs, and helping professionals find their true voice.

Her insight is grounded in 15 years of corporate experience, where she worked in HR and navigated the realities of corporate structure, interdepartmental relationships, and office politics. This background gives her a rare ability to guide professionals not just in landing roles, but in thriving within complex organizational environments.

Beyond her corporate career, Shonda is the founder of Black Girl Biohacking, a passion project dedicated to health, wellness, and longevity for Black women. She is also authoring a forthcoming book that chronicles her journey of healing from childhood trauma, including the painful reality of growing up under the roof of a sexual predator. By sharing her story, she gives voice to survivors and models resilience, wellness, and courage.

Whether she’s amplifying conversations online, coaching one-on-one, or championing holistic health, Shonda specializes in helping people align clarity, confidence, and wellness so they can step forward with strength in both career and life.
